Need a Letter of Recommendation?

Request letters of recommendation from teachers for college applications through Naviance. To request a letter from your school counselor, email them and stop in to see them personally.

If you require a letter of recommendation for applications such as summer programs or scholarships, be prepared; personally ask your counselor or teacher at least ten (10) days in advance. It is not guaranteed that the letter will be completed on time if you do not give at least ten (10) days notice.

PSAT REGISTRATION FOR 10th GRADERS ONLY

All Sophomores will be testing on Wednesday, October 16th. Sophomores will be sitting for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) exam at no cost to families. Students can opt out of the ASVAB exam if they register for the PSAT at a cost of $21.


SAT Prep Course - Begins October 7th

In preparation for the November 2 SAT Exam, given at USCHS, the Counseling Department is offering a four-week Prep Course. Click here for more information and to register. The deadline to register is September 18th.


AP Exam Registration

Registration for AP Exams will run September 9 - October 31, 2024. To register for an AP Exam(s), students order and pay for their exam(s) through Total Registration**Please note:  Enrolling in an AP Classroom does not register the student for the exam**  


Financial Aid Night - Two Opportunities

  • South Fayette is hosting a virtual Financial Aid Night from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24th presented by Amy Sawdey, PHEAA’s Higher Education Access Partner in Allegheny County. Amy will discuss information on the financial aid application process, what types of aid are available for students, and strategies to start thinking about affordability before getting ready to apply for post-secondary school admission. Time will be built into the presentation to allow you to ask any questions you may have regarding the financial aid process.  Register for the online event.

  • Mt. Lebanon is hosting an in-person Financial Aid Night presented by Washington & Jefferson Financial Aid Office on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Mt. Lebanon Fine Arts Theater.


South Hills College & Career Fair

The event will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, at Bethel Park High School.


Junior Parent Meeting

Parents/guardians of students in grade 11 are encouraged to join counselors for a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, in the USCHS Theater.


Senior Parent Meeting (August 29th) 

The 12th grade school counselors discussed the college admissions process and application process. The presentation included an update on college admissions and then a review of Naviance. Presentation coming soon!
